1 / What types of classes will you offer?

At Beyond Yoga, we will offer a diverse range of classes to cater to different needs and levels of experience. Our offerings will include Vinyasa, a dynamic flow that links breath with movement to build strength and flexibility. We will also have Hatha yoga, focusing on foundational postures and alignment, perfect for those new to the practice or seeking a more mindful approach. For those looking to slow down and stretch deeply, we will offer Yin yoga, which targets the connective tissues through long-held poses. Restorative yoga will provide a calming experience, using props to support the body in gentle stretches, helping to release tension and promote deep relaxation. Yoga Nidra, a guided meditation practice, will offer profound relaxation and stress relief. Additionally, we will include Meditation sessions to foster mental clarity and emotional balance, supporting overall well-being. Our goal is to create a welcoming environment where all individuals can find a practice that nurtures both body and mind.

2 / What will your schedule look like?

We will offer a full class schedule Monday through Friday, with regular sessions at 6:00 AM, 9:00 AM, 4:00 PM, 5:30 PM, and 7:00 PM. On Saturdays, classes will be held at 8:00 AM and 9:30 AM, while Sundays will feature a 9:30 AM class. The weekends will also provide space for our instructors to offer special workshops and trainings for fellow yoga teachers. Additionally, we will host community-centered events, such as clothing swaps and other initiatives, designed to support and engage our local community.

3 / Can my teenager attend a class?

Yes, teenagers between the ages of 13-17 are welcome to attend our classes. However, an additional waiver form must be completed by both the parent/guardian and the child prior to attending. Please email Michelle directly to receive the required form.

4 / How much is a class?

Our drop-in rate is $17 per class. Packages are available for purchase online or through the Mindbody app when you sign up for a class.

5 / If I buy a class pack can I share it?

Yes, you will need to contact Michelle via email so she can connect your accounts.

6/ Where do I park?

We have free street parking on Milwaukee Ave.  If the streets are full you can park in the farmers market parking lot across from Human Concerns.

7/ I have never practiced yoga before...

You don’t need any experience to start—just a willingness to try. Many of our students begin right here, and we’ll guide you step-by-step with clear options so you can move (or rest) in a way that feels supportive for your body. You’ll never be asked to “keep up,” and breaks are always welcome.

If you’re nervous, consider starting with a Beginner or Hatha class, arriving 15 minutes early, and letting your teacher know it’s your first time—we’ll help you get settled with props and answer any questions.

8/  What's your temperature / is it heated?

Our studio is not a heated yoga studio. The room is kept at a comfortable, steady temperature so you can focus on breath, alignment, and how your body feels.

9/  Do I need my own mat? / Do you have rentals?

A yoga mat can feel very personal, so we highly encourage you to have your own. If you’d like, we’re happy to recommend options based on your needs (grip, cushioning, joint support, and budget).

And—life happens. If you forget your mat, we’ll have mats available for you to borrow. We’ll also have a small selection of mats available for purchase in the studio.

10/  What is your cancellation/Late arrival policy?

Our class sizes are intentionally small, so if you need to cancel, we ask that you do so as soon as possible—it helps us open the spot for someone else and supports our teachers in planning a grounded class experience.

The studio doors will open 15–20 minutes before class so you have time to arrive, settle in, and get comfortable. To support safety and the integrity of the space, the doors will lock at the class start time so the teacher can stay fully present with the students already in the room.

11/  Technology Policy

To support a calm, distraction-free practice, we ask that all phones and smart watches are silenced before class begins. Cell phones are left in the lobby area and are not brought into the practice space—this is time to stay tuned into yourself. If you need to be reachable for an urgent situation, please let your teacher know before class so we can help you choose an option that’s respectful to you and the room.

12/  What should I expect when I arrive

As you enter the space, we ask that you check in with your teacher at the front desk. You’ll then remove your shoes and place them in the shoe tray (winter) or the shoe storage cabinets. We’ll have coat hooks available for your coat and personal items. As we do not have lockers, we encourage you to only bring items into the studio that are needed for practice. From there, choose the spot in the studio that’s calling to you for your practice, gather any recommended or preferred props, pour yourself a cup of tea, and settle onto your mat.

13/  Do you have items for purchase in the studio?

Yes. We offer a small, thoughtfully chosen selection of wellness and yoga essentials for purchase in the studio. We ask that all purchases be made after class so you can fully settle into your practice without distractions. If you have questions about a product, your teacher will be happy to help once class has ended.
