In a world that often asks us to move faster, do more, and stay constantly connected, many people begin searching for yoga classes simply to slow down and breathe again. At Beyond Yoga, we offer several practices throughout the week that are designed to support rest, relaxation, and nervous system regulation.
If you are looking for yoga classes for relaxation, Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga, and Yoga Nidra can each offer a different pathway into stillness and ease.
Yin Yoga
Yin yoga is a slower practice where postures are held for longer periods of time, often with the support of props. This creates space to soften muscular effort and settle into stillness. Many students find Yin grounding and meditative, as the slower pace encourages awareness of breath, sensation, and presence.
Rather than focusing on intensity or movement, Yin invites you to pause. It can be a supportive practice for those feeling mentally overstimulated or physically tense from the pace of daily life.
Restorative Yoga
Restorative yoga is centered around rest and support. Using bolsters, blankets, blocks, and other props, the body is fully supported in gentle postures designed to encourage deep relaxation.
This practice is intentionally slow and quiet. There is very little physical effort required, allowing the body and mind an opportunity to settle. Many students leave restorative yoga feeling more grounded, calm, and replenished.
At Beyond Yoga, we encourage students to make themselves comfortable and truly receive the support of the practice.
Yoga Nidra
Yoga Nidra is a type of guided meditation often referred to as “yogic rest.” Unlike movement-based yoga classes, Yoga Nidra is typically practiced lying down in stillness while being guided through meditation techniques such as breath awareness, body sensing, visualization, and relaxation practices.
The intention is not to “do” anything, but rather to allow the body and mind an opportunity to deeply rest. Many students find Yoga Nidra especially supportive when feeling mentally overwhelmed, emotionally fatigued, or disconnected from rest.
No yoga experience is needed for Yoga Nidra — simply a willingness to slow down and be present.
A Space to Slow Down
Our relaxation-based classes are beginner friendly and intentionally kept small to help create a calm and supportive environment. Whether you are seeking physical rest, mental quiet, or simply a moment to reconnect with yourself, these practices offer an opportunity to step away from the noise and into stillness.
We offer Yin, Restorative, and Yoga Nidra classes weekly on our schedule and would be honored to welcome you into the space.
